Second European Film Festival in Armenia

The second EU Film Festival in Armenia organized by European Union Delegation to Armenia and the EUNIC Armenia Cluster of EU National Institutes for Culture kicked off with the premiere of “Gloria Mundy” by French-Armenian director Robert Guédiguian on 10 November 2019, within the frameworks of the EU Film Festivals initiative.

The opening ceremony was attended by Ambassador Andrea Wiktorin, Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Mr. Arayik Harutyunyan, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, Ambassadors of foreign countries accredited in Armenia, representatives of international organizations and other guests of the festival.

H.E. Mrs Andrea Wiktorin, EU Ambassador to Armenia, Mr. Arayik Harutyunyan, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia and H.E. Mr. Jonathan Lacôte Ambassador of France in Armenia delivered speech during the opening ceremony,  highlighting the important role of the Festival.

The ceremony was followed by the screening of “Gloria Mundi”, a film of the French-Italian co-production, which exceptionally was allowed for screening before its premiere in France. The film tells the story of a French family in which complicated relationships develop. Immersed in family and social problems, they seem to be casting a shadow over the happiness of their lives.

The EU Film Festival in Armenia will be running until the 2nd December, 2019 in 4 cities of Armenia, including Yerevan, Gyumri, Dilijan and Vanadzor. Please find enclosed the programme of the Second EU Film Festival in Armenia.
