On November 18, the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environment Varazdat Karapetyan met with the delegation led by Angela Malyuha, the Head of the Secretariat of the Committee on State Building, Regional Policy and Local Self-Government, Territorial Development and Urban Development of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
At the guests’ request the Committee Chair presented the structure and the activity of the National Assembly, the order of the legislative initiatives’ presentation and the main functions of the Standing Committee led by him. He has noted that the process of the law revision is transparent and various debates of the legislative initiatives are implemented.
Varazdat Karapetyan touched upon the ongoing reforms after the Velvet revolution happened in Armenia, noting that the revolution was also a revolution of ‘values.’
The Committee Chair has also talked about the community enlargement process, noted that amendments are designed in the Electoral Code. He informed that the Government elaborated territorial development strategy.
