Young European Ambassadors to travel around Yerevan in a coffee truck to highlight human rights issues

November 27,2019 22:00

EU NEIGHBOURS. On 1 December, Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) from Armenia will take a ‘human rights coffee truck ride’ through the streets of the country’s capital of Yerevan. The truck was created with EU support within the ‘iMigrant Armenia’ project.

The YEAs will offer free coffee to passers-by in special cups with messages related to human rights, and will discuss fundamental human rights with Armenian people.

Through this creative initiative, the YEAs will mark International Human Rights Day, which takes place every year on 10 December. They will also reflect on the activity they organised last year to draw attention to human rights issues among local citizens, which took place at Aregak, the country’s first inclusive cafe and bakery in Gyumri.

The Young European Ambassadors initiative aims to foster cooperation and sustainable links between young people and youth organisations from the EU and its Eastern partner countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.
