On December 13, within the RA NA Open Lesson programme the pupils and the teachers of N 171 Basic School of the capital visited the parliament. They observed the works of the extraordinary sitting from the box of the NA Session Hall, were in the library and got familiarized with the history of the legislative body in the Museum.
The NA deputy Mary Galstyan presented to the guests the structure of the parliament and told about the legislator’s activity. She has underlined that the MP is the one serving the public interest and contributes to the development of democracy and the improvement of the legislation with everyday work.
Touching upon the problems of Lake Sevan and environment, Mary Galstyan considered important every citizen’s role and significance in their solution. She informed the pupils that recently an amendment was made to the law on Approving the Annual and Complex Programmes of the Events of Restoration, Preservation, Reproduction and Use of Lake Sevan Ecosystem, where it had been distinctly established the amount of water to be used on agricultural purposes. “Sevan is a lake having unique sweetest water reserve of the world,” the MP said. She referred to the school problems voiced by the pupils, indicating the ways of their solution. The importance of the education has been underscored for becoming a full member of the society.
Mary Galstyan urged the pupils to study well and never have complexes and be self-sufficient.
