“According to them, peace will only happen when Armenia makes one-sided concessions. They should never have hopes for this kind of peaceful resolution, nor should they continue to have these kinds of hopes. Peace is when we come to the realization together that war cannot be an option. Since Azerbaijan has not come to that realization yet, Mammedyarov is lying to the people,” My Step deputy and Azeri affairs expert Tatevik Hayrapetyan told journalists regarding Azeri Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammedyarov’s interview where he said that Armenia and Azerbaijan are discussing the Lavrov Plan.
“In reality, Azerbaijan’s theory of preparing people for peace is very problematic. Since this is a subject of criticism in Azerbaijan, it means that no solutions can be discussed since we are not living in that kind of atmosphere. In his interview, Mammedyarov confirmed that it is difficult for Azerbaijan to speak about peace,” Hayrapetyan said.
