“I cannot remember any of the intermediary parties stating that an Azeri community needs to participate in the negotiations process over the past few decades,” the head of the Office of Second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan, Viktor Soghomonyan, told journalists before the third session of the Lazarevyan club began.
Regarding the current phase of the conflict resolution, Soghomonyan said that he has a lot of worries and fears, especially considering the fact that the team cannot envision what the leading party’s approach toward the resolution process is and what principles their meetings and negotiations are based on. Soghomonyan is especially concerned by the fact that members of the leading party claim that there are no negotiations.
The interview with Azeri Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammedyarov was broadcast on Azeri television.
“He has made claims that need to be immediately refuted. If this does not happen immediately, we can assume that whatever Mammedyarov is saying is correct,” Viktor Soghomonyan said.
