Chief of Staff: ‘The entire state budget would not be sufficient, but we went along a different route’

December 26,2019 22:13

“The military budget is increasing overall. As far as whether it is increasing a lot or a little, that is another question. No matter how much it increases, it will not be sufficient for our soldiers because we want more,” Chief of Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces Artak Davtyan told journalists.

According to him, “The entire state budget would not be sufficient, but we went along a different route. In addition to state allocations, we redistributed our resources, which resulted in us having more resources to purchase more weapons. Besides that, we have signed long-term contracts that will allow us to use loans to purchase transportation vehicles. We will make payments in part through state budget allocations, but we have all the money necessary.”

The Chief of Staff added that he is not referring to donations and help from charities. “If we ever need help, we appeal to the government, and it supports us.” Artak Davtyan noted that the process for purchasing more weapons continues, as well as purchases from local producers.
