STATEMENT:
On Jan. 2, the US armed forces bombed an airport in Baghdad, striking a number of targets, including a vehicle with the Commander General of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of the Kuds Special Forces Jassem Soleimani. He was killed.
The Pentagon said the strike was ordered by US President Donald Trump.
Days before the air strikes, US Air Forces hit the command posts and military bases of the Kata’ib Hezbollah militia in Iraq and Syria. General Soleimani has been one of the leading figures in the fight against terrorism in Iraq and Syria for the past several years and has been the real leader and symbol of victory in the Islamic Resistance Front. Since 2003, when the US Armed Forces and its allies have invaded the territory of sovereign Iraq, and in 2011 the territory of sovereign Syria ,the Islamic State and al-Nusra while getting actual military and financial support from USA, Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and a number of European states of NATO, and recognized by the UN as terrorist have executed orders from their masters by destroying hundreds of cities, thousands of villages, killing hundreds of thousands of civilians, turning millions of people into refugees and tens of millions into hostages in Iraq and Syria.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is also providing moral, military, and humanitarian assistance to its fellow believers in the fight of liberation of the homeland. Freedom-seeking citizens of Iraq and Syria have fought for years against the occupiers of their own countries, first of all against Turkey and Islamic radicals, who carried out state terror against these peoples, which has always been condemned by peaceful peoples and states. At the beginning of the 20th century, Armenians also became victims of state terrorism when part of it was subjected to genocide and deprivation by Turkish authorities. The authorities of Turkey’s younger brother Azerbaijan 31 years ago also tried to carry out state terror against the Armenians living in Artsakh, which failed due to the heroic struggle, dedication and goodwill of the Armenian people. Today there is great grief among the Iranian authorities and citizens, citizens of Iraq, Syria, and those who are fighting for freedom, liberation from yoke, and the restoration of sovereignty in their countries. We are convinced that this loss will not weaken the desire of the peoples of Iraq, Syria and other countries to win the patriotic war, and that loss will unite all the liberating peoples fighting for the liberation of their homeland.
