Ukrainian plane crashes in Iran, killing 176

A Boeing 737-800 plane bound for Kiev, Ukraine crashed in Tehran, Iran on January 8th. According to the Prime Minister of Ukraine, there were 167 passengers and 9 crew members on the flight, which crashed shortly after it took off from the Imam Khomeini International Airport.

Of the passengers, 82 were from Iran, 63 were from Canada, 11 from Ukraine, 10 from Sweden, 4 from Afghanistan, 3 from Germany, and 3 from Great Britain. There were no survivors.

The plane was manufactured in 2016 and underwent maintenance this past Monday. Boeing is gathering more information on what happened.
