During a discussion held at the Article 3 club, Iranian affairs expert Artyom Tonoyan announced that US-Iran relations will be divided into two parts from now on: before and after the death of the Quds Force commander Qasem Soleimani and before and after the missile attack on the American airbase. According to Tonoyan, Qasem Soleimani was a beloved figure in Iranian society and his killing was equivalent to the killing of the defense minister, president, or prime minister.
According to the Iranian affairs expert, the American side announced after the missile attack on the American airbase that it did not have any casualties, but the Iranian side demands that they will avenge Soleimani’s death at all costs. So, it is not a coincidence that Iranian sources began to write about the airbase attacks and the deaths of 80 people. Tonoyan said that analyses of statements made after the murder of Soleimani show that the Iranian side has made it their ultimate goal to rid the Middle East of the USA’s presence.
