Summary of 2019 activities of Kotayk Regional Rescue Department was held in Kotayk Province on January 20. Arkadi Balyan, Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations, as well as Romanos Petrosyan, Governor of Kotayk Province participated in the summarization. Kotayk Regional Rescue Department staff and other officials participated in the summary, too.
A. Amirjanyan, r/s Colonel, Head of Kotayk Regional Rescue Department made a report by summarizing the result of the activities of the Department in 2019.
78456 emergency calls were received to the Crisis Management Center of Kotayk Regional Rescue Department in the reporting period (in the same period of the previous year 92097 emergency calls), 2746 of which were accidents (2597 in the same period of the previous year). So, the number of cases has increased by 150 or by 6% compared to the previous year.
1597 registered cases were man-made (1524 in the same period of the previous year). So, the number of cases has increased by 73 or by 8% compared to the previous year. 1477 human-made cases were fires (1413 in the same period of the previous year). The number of fires has increased by 64 or by 4,5% compared to the previous year.

Activities were carried out towards the preservation of the permanent high readiness of the governing bodies and forces and provision of their targeted use, implementation of the preparedness of the governing bodies and training on population actions in the field of civil defense in emergency situations and population protection, as well as the implementation of corresponding planning of population protection operations in the field of emergency situations and civil protection by Regional Rescue Department during the year.
The cooperation with local self-governing bodies, the issues relating civil defense and emergency situations were discussed during the summary.
Armen Amirjanyan, r/s Colonel, Head of Kotayk Regional Rescue Department, especially, highlighted the need to repair and provision of equipment of the existing and anti-radiation shelters, as well as replacement of fire cars since the 1980s in Charentsavan and Yeghvard FRS with modern rescue equipment in the Province.
