On January 20 summary of the 2019 activity of Aragatsotn Regional Rescue Department of the Rescue Service was held led by Aragatsotn Governor Davit Gevorgyan. Vrezh Gabrielyan, r/s General-Major, Director of the Rescue Service took part in the summary.
Representatives of Aragatsotn Regional Services, Territorial Subdivisions of Departmental Bodies, workers in the Provincial Administration, Executive Staff and employees of Aragatsotn Regional Rescue Department and subordinate subdivisions were present in the summary.
Dmitry Petrosyan, r/s Lieutenant Colonel, Head of Aragatsotn Regional Rescue Department represented the report of the activities of 2019.
The operative group and subordinate subdivisions of Aragatsotn Regional Rescue Department dispatched 1120 times (864 times in 2018) in the reporting period, the number of dispatch times has increased by 256 or by 29.6%, as a result of the accidents there were 15 victims (25 victims in 2018). The number of the victims has decreased by 10 or by 60%, 112 people got injuries (115 casualties in 2018), the number of the casualties has decreased by 3 or by 2.6%), 1007 emergency cases were registered in the area of the Province (808 cases in 2018). The number of the cases has increased by 199 or by 24.6%. 712 of the registered cases were man-made, this forms 70.7% of the overall cases (475 or 58.7% in 2018), as a result there were 13 victims (17 victims in 2018), 109 casualties (103 casualties in 2018). The cases of man-made nature have increased by 199 or by 24.6%, the number of victims has decreased by 4 or by 23.5%, the number of casualties has increased by 6 or by 5.8%.

Vrezh Gabrielyan, r/s General-Major, Director of the Rescue Service spoke about the efficient response to emergency cases in the Province and attached great importance to the continual technical saturation of the Rescue Department, improvement of living conditions, as well as urged to activate the cooperation of the Regional Rescue Department with local self-governing as well as other bodies in order to organize the activities more efficiently.
The opportunity of the training of specialists and executive staff of Aragatsotn Province of the RA in “Crisis Management State Academy” SNCO, as well as the issues relating the scarcity of water basins necessary for implementing firefighting activities were discussed.
In his speech Aragatsotn Governor Davit Gevorgyan mentioned that the previous year, in general, was quite complex in the field of emergency situations.
Serious work has been done in the field of civil defense of the Province, achievements have been registered, but the partnership with the communities was yet not on the satisfactory level.
Summarizing the report Head of Aragatsotn Regional Rescue Department D. Petrosyan made suggestions aimed at the implementation of material, transport and technical provision of civil defense, establishment of the simplest protective structures in the communities, upgrading of population notification system of the Province, as well as finding opportunities for installing hydrates and building water basins necessary for firefighting in the area of the communities.
