On January 22, at 17:36 an emergency call was received to 911 emergency call center that a car had fallen into a canyon near “Tej Ler” resort area on Vanadzor-Dilijan highway: there were casualties.
A fire unit from the Fire and Rescue Squad of the Regional Rescue Department of the Rescue Service of MES dispatched to the scene.
It turned out that “Opel Astra” car (driver Karen M., born in 1988) had run off the roadway and slipped into a canyon (about 30 m) on the 6th km of Vanadzor-Dilijan highway.
Before the rescuers arrived at the scene the driver and the passengers had been taken out of the car by local forces.

The rescuers moved the driver and the passengers Anush A. (born in 1964), Astghik P. (born in 1999), Arpine Sh. (born in 1979) and Meri Sh. (born in 2003) to ambulance car. They were taken to the medical center of Vanadzor town. According to doctors the casualties were in fair condition.
The rescuers disconnected the automotive battery and closed the gas valve of the car.
