“He was proud of the fact that he was born on Armenian Army Day. It is painful that, instead of wishing him health and good service today, we are asking God to bless his soul… it is painful, but we need to accept that this is reality,” Armenak Urfanyan’s mother, Hamest Nersisyan, told journalists at Yerablur.
Armenak Urfanyan, who died during the April military operations of 2016, would have been 30 years old on January 28th.
His mother remembered when her son began his service. “I would tell him, ‘My son, I’m so worried when you don’t call me.’ And he would respond, ‘Mom, don’t worry about it, forget it, I already belong to the army.’”
