In 2019, the Serbian government decided to lift visa requirements for Armenian citizens holding ordinary passports. This decision has already been put into effect. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Avet Adonts spoke about this during a session of government. According to him, Armenian citizens can visit the Republic of Serbia without a visa for a maximum of 90 days, and for a maximum of 180 days in one year.
Avet Adonts presented a draft according to which Serbian citizens may also visit Armenia without a visa. According to Adonts, this decision was drafted due to the principle of reciprocity, and as a result of its acceptance, Serbian citizens will be able to visit Armenia for a maximum of 180 days in a one-year period.
In regards to this decision, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said, “I hope that this decision will allow us to establish direct flights between Yerevan and Belgrade and other cities in Serbia, from Gyumri to Belgrade, and other cities. And in general, lifting visa requirements with different countries will also improve our foreign policy.”
During the session, it was announced that Armenia has a visa-free regime with 63 countries.

The secretary of the Security Council, Armen Grigoryan, said that there are international reports for making passports more powerful. There are plans to allow Armenian citizens to move freely in other countries.
Avet Adonts said, “One of our plans includes beginning dialogue or negotiations to establish a visa-free regime with European countries, and we are making dynamic progress in that direction. I will avoid making any predictions. The day that we begin negotiations is when we will be able to predict the time frame in which we will have a visa-free regime with EU countries.”
The draft was accepted and it will be put into effect in 10 days.
