On February 3, at the regular sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs moderated by Naira Zohrabyan the draft law on Amending the RA Law on Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) authored by the Government was debated.

According to the Deputy Chairman of the RA State Revenue Committee Edvard Hovhannisyan, the adoption of the draft law will give an opportunity to make the community accessible the reports of the NGOs.

As the Committee Chair Naira Zohrabyan has informed, meetings on the bill with the representatives of the NGOs took place, and concerns were heard. As she has assessed, the organizations are worried about the fact that the State Revenue Committee shall evaluate the content of their activity.

The co-speaker Artur Hovhannisyan emphasized the adoption of the bill with respect to the transparency of the organizations, public trust and the rise of control.

The bill with 4 for, 3 against and 1 abstained was received the negative conclusion of the Committee.
