Former Chairman of the Yerkrapah Volunteer Union, Manvel Grigoryan, is still in rehabilitation. His wife, Nazik Amiryan, spoke about this in an interview with journalists.
The Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction under the authority of Judge Mnatsakan Martirosyan decided to change the precautionary method of former Chairman of the Yerkrapah Volunteer Union, General Manvel Grigoryan. That session was opened with the initiative of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia and with the mediation to change Grigoryan’s precautionary method. Before the judge left the consultations room, the defense attorney asked the judge to take into consideration the fact that Manvel Grigoryan had signed a document swearing not to leave the country as he made his decision whether or not to change the precautionary method. Manvel Grigoryan was in a poor state of health and was in rehabilitation. Until then, the court had declined the mediation of Manvel Grigoryan’s defense attorneys several times to change his precautionary method.
Manvel Grigoryan is accused of illegal possession of weapons, embezzlement of over 101 million AMD worth of property, tax evasion worth over 1 billion AMD, misuse of over 1 billion AMD in state funds, and organizing the embezzlement of 37 million AMD worth of property.
When asked if there have been any positive changes in the state of Grigoryan’s health, Nazik Amiryan said, “He is undergoing treatment.”
