On February 11, the RA NA Vice President Vahe Enfiajyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the RA Igor Nazaruk.
Welcoming the Ambassador Vahe Enfiajyan underlined the friendly relations historically formed between Armenia and Belarus.
The RA NA Vice President proposed to have a Memorandum at the regular sitting of the Inter-Parliamentary Committee on Cooperation between the National Assemblies of Armenia and Belarus to be convened during this year dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the victory of the Great Patriotic War. “That is our common history, and that is our common victory,“ Vahe Enfiajyan noted.
Highlighting Vahe Enfiajyan’s proposal Igor Nazaruk highly assessed the Armenians’ significant contribution to the liberation of Belarus from fascism. He informed that last year the book entitled The Soldiers in the Fight for Belarus in the War Years was published. During the meeting the sides touched upon the deepening of cooperation in a number of spheres, particularly considered mutually beneficial the development of trade-economic ties.

In the Ambassador’s word, in 2019 the volumes of import from Belarus to Armenia have increased by 144%. The export index from Armenia to Belarus has also increased. According to him, if in 2018 the volume of goods turnover between the two countries had been 50.1mln USD, then in 2019 it had already been 73mln USD.
The Ambassador expressed readiness to support the development of the inter-parliamentary relations between Armenia and Belarus, as well as the cooperation in different spheres.
