‘It is still difficult to say when there will be a price decrease in flights to Jordan’: Tatevik Revazian

February 13,2020 17:19

The National Assembly discussed the ratification of an air communication agreement between Armenia and Jordan. The chair of the Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia, Tatevik Revazian, signed this agreement in 2018. She announced that the agreement will establish equal opportunities for airlines in both countries. “It will make things easier for airlines to be assigned to these countries, as well as their capacity, prices, and the frequency of flights. The ratification of this agreement could serve as a basis for there to be frequent flights.”

According to Tatevik Revazian, more than 40 inter-governmental agreements have been signed in the aviation sector in Armenia. It is expected that an agreement will be signed between Armenia and the EU for the establishment of a general aviation zone.

My Step deputy Gevorg Papoyan said that, according to his sources, the touristic ties between Armenia and Jordan are not active, which is why the prices of tickets are so high.

Tatevik Revazian responded that it is not necessary to resign oneself to the thought that there are not many tourists because airlines can provide a flow in tourism.

“It is a bit difficult to speak about Jordan. I spoke to all the airlines in Jordan and to all of our airlines. There is no clear interest yet, but that does not mean that we shouldn’t attempt to change that. Many destinations are developing, but it seems that we do not have agreements with several countries. This can serve as an obstacle if we don’t attempt to resolve this issue,’ the chair of the Civil Aviation Committee emphasized.

Revazian added that it is still difficult to say when there will be a price decrease in flights to Jordan.
