“Have you discussed the issue of the airport in Artsakh? People were saying that they have to catch flights from there. I am asking a serious question. It is very important for the airport in the Republic of Artsakh to operate because it was operating during the war. We flew from there many times,” My Step faction deputy and Chair of the Yerkrapah Volunteer Union, Sasun Mikayelyan, asked the chair of the Civil Aviation Committee, Tatevik Revazian, during a session of parliament.
Revazian responded that this issue has been the topic of many discussions. “We absolutely want to find a solution. It is important, but it is also a fact that Azerbaijan has decided to close off Artsakh’s airspace internationally. And the Civil Aviation Committee does not have the right to allow flights to Artsakh. This is a political issue that cannot be resolved on our level.”
