February 27,2020 21:07

At the beginning of the recent government session, Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan said that there have been no confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Armenia. He also said that most cases worldwide are being treated. “Severe cases of the illness only make up five percent of overall cases,” the minister said, presenting statistics on the illness worldwide and in the region.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan ordered that Armenia should continue to stay careful. He said that it is impossible for the Armenian government to have any information on the virus and to hide it from the public. “I want everyone to live their lives normally. There is nothing to worry about right now. If there is ever a necessity to follow some sort of regime, the government will announce that as soon as possible,” Pashinyan said.

Arsen Torosyan had written on his Facebook page, “I just finished speaking with the Minister of Health of Georgia, Ekaterine Tikaradze, in order to find out more about the situation surrounding the coronavirus in our neighboring country. She said that the four people who have had contact with the patient diagnosed with the coronavirus have been tested and they do not carry the virus. They will be quarantined for 14 days.”
