The European Union attaches great importance to the regional development in a holistic approach.
The European Union and the Government of Armenia are working out an exemplary partnership which has already brought significant and tangible results in the regional development.
Today, a Regional Development Seminar took place, which gathered around 50 participants.
During the seminar the results of the Pilot Regional Development Programme (PRDP) Grant Scheme projects were presented.
Due to the projects almost 500 new jobs in selected marzes were generated.
At the Seminar, the state of the Regional Development reforms, including consultations on the draft revised Armenian Regional Development Strategy 2019-2025 have been reviewed.

The EU Ambassador Andrea Wiktorin, the RA Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Vache Terteryan, as well as officials from the Government, local authorities and donors, participated in the seminar. In her speech, the EU Ambassador thanked all the project partners and highlighted the importance of creating more jobs, providing more opportunities for women and ensuring the sustainable development of regions, which were tackled within the framework of the PRDP projects.
