Two new cases of the coronavirus have been confirmed. Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan announced this during a Facebook live video.
“Of the patients who were quarantined due to having direct contact with an individual in Ejmiatsin who was confirmed to have the coronavirus, two of them tested positive. They are feeling fine at the moment and they are not experiencing any serious symptoms,” Torosyan said, and added, “It seems to be a symptom that the patient has a fever that fluctuates.” He said that those patients’ family members have already been quarantined. Now, the ministry is trying to determine whether or not there is a need to quarantine more people.
“There are 8 confirmed cases at the moment. Five of them are from the same group and, while this is not a good thing, this is better from a pandemic perspective than to have 8 separate cases. Therefore, we can conclude that these are four separate cases, not eight.”
The minister said, “Today, the two new confirmed cases are from the same group as the previous three cases. So, there was the initial patient who infected four other people. Therefore, we can consider them to be one case in the context of a pandemic. There are three other cases: one that we learned about on March 1st, and two other cases from two days ago.”
