Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan chaired a follow-up meeting on the set of measures aimed at addressing the adverse consequences of the coronavirus. A finalized version of the agriculture support program was presented, based on the results of discussions held yesterday and last week. A number of issues related to agricultural support mechanisms were raised during the meeting.
The Prime Minister suggested holding public debates on the project. He noted that the Government will monitor the program in order to respond quickly and improve the program, if necessary.
The meeting next discussed the areas and possibilities of social assistance, including steps and mechanisms for identifying the target groups and providing for fair and equitable distribution of resources. A number of proposals and recommendations were voiced during the exchange of views that followed. The speakers emphasized that the working man should be at the center of state support, and institutional channels should be encouraged and supported.
The Head of Government suggested discussing the package of social assistance within the interagency working group on the basis of the aforementioned formula. He instructed those responsible to summarize the proposals and submit them to the government for approval.
