According to the Prime Minister’s data, there are 2,419 people in quarantine. Reporters asked the deputy chief of police, Hayk Mhryan, how the situation is being controlled to ensure that these people do not leave their homes and whether or not there have been people in quarantine who attempted to violate the rules. He said, “As of yesterday, we have not had any cases where quarantined citizens attempted to violate the conditions. But we had cases the day before and we quickly stopped them.”
Reporters asked if there have been citizens who did not follow the State of Emergency Command’s orders, and if so, how they were punished. The deputy chief of police said that there were orders to warn citizens and keep them informed until 16:00 local time, after which the police would begin to carry out the necessary actions. He also said that the police had noticed a third person in 92 vehicles, and the driver was held responsible because of the rule that no more than two people are allowed to be in one car. “But we will begin to be stricter with citizens who do not follow the rules after 16:00.”
Aravot Daily asked about how citizens are worried that carrying around papers may also be a way for the virus to transfer and whether the police will be upholding sanitary standards. Hayk Mhryan said, “The police will try to uphold sanitary standards as much as possible, but none of us are immune to the virus. We will do everything to ensure that those documents will not become an issue.”
Aravot Daily also asked if citizens need to fill out the document if they need to leave their homes to throw out the trash. The deputy police chief said that it is not necessary and, if a police officer sees that someone has left their home to throw out the trash, they will simply be warned to go home quickly.
