Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has sent a condolence message on the demise of French politician Patrick Devedjian. The message reads, in part:
“With deep sorrow, I learned about the demise of French politician, President of the Department of Haut-de-Seine, our compatriot Patrick Devedjian.
On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, the Armenian people and on my own behalf, I express deep condolences to friendly French people on the demise of a prominent political figure who made an important contribution in the social and political life of France.
We can state that the passing of Patrick Devedjian that came after the demise of Charles Aznavour is an irreparable loss for Armenian-French friendship. Devedjian was the embodiment of the 50-year-long struggle for the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide and for the promotion of issues of concern to Armenians in France.
