The man was taken from the Maralik Hospital to the Gyumri Medical Center because he had double pneumonia. Then, he was taken to the St. Grigor Lusavorich Hospital in Yerevan, where he was tested positive for the coronavirus.

All of the doctors who came into contact with the patient- not knowing or believing that he had the virus- were quarantined in one of Gyumri’s hotels. Twenty-nine medical workers in total were quarantined, but none of them have a fever or any other symptoms.

People who came into contact with the man were also quarantined. They come from two families consisting of eight people.

The director of the Gyumri Medical Center, Armen Isahakyan, said that the hospital continues to operate as usual. Armen Isahakyan said that the patient’s medical history will no longer be taken into consideration; all those who have pneumonia and a fever will be tested, and only then will they be taken to the Gyumri Medical Center.
