“Yesterday, 236 tests were administered, of which 28 were positive. This means that we will continue to uphold the careful optimism we had at the beginning of the week, especially since 24 patients have recovered. We expect that the number of recoveries and those coming out of self-isolation will increase soon,” Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said before discussing the agenda during a session of government on April 9th.
It was expected that the number of tests administered daily starting Friday would reach 1,000, but Pashinyan said that this might not be the case. “Because they need to have symptoms. Asking people who do not have any symptoms to take a test is a waste of time and resources. We will test those who have pneumonia and other viruses so that we can have a better picture.”
Pashinyan assured that the government is fully aware of the situation.
The Prime Minister made a noteworthy statement regarding the confirmed coronavirus cases. It has been one week since information about the coronavirus has been gathered and input in the system. “The data is being updated online. At this point, we have come across 12 mistakes. We will check everything again. Overall, we have 921 confirmed cases, but without counting those 12, we would have had 909 cases. It is possible for these mistakes to happen statistically. This can take place due to patients being taken from hospital to hospital, leaving the hospital where they were confirmed to have the virus, and not registering at the medical center.”
