“One more person died this morning, but we did not announce it yet. Therefore, there have been 12 deaths total,” Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan announced during the National Assembly Standing Committee on Healthcare and Social Affairs session. “The citizen was 81 years old and had other serious illnesses. Our goal is to keep the number of deaths as low as possible and to avoid overwhelming hospitals. We are more confident now in our funds for additional beds and ventilators. We felt confident even before we purchased those supplies, but we need to be prepared for the worst, including providing treatment in places other than hospitals. We are doing everything to ensure that we don’t reach that point,” the minister said.
