Aravot Daily asked the director of the Armenian Genocide Museum and Institute, PhD Harutyun Marutyan about the accuracy of rumors that a permanent exhibition will be included at the museum of Turks who saved Armenians.
“That is not true. I do not know who is spreading such rumors. Perhaps it’s Hayk Demoyan,” the director of the Genocide Museum said.
“I have an article that was published in Armenian, English, and Polish about true and false stories of people saving Armenians. It is not true that Turks saved Armenians,” Harutyun Marutyan said.

Aravot Daily also asked him about which side he supports in the ongoing debate about whether or not to forgive Turks for the genocide.
“Such a question does not exist for me. The experts speaking about this subject say that the road to reconciliation includes recognition, apologizing, compensation, and the elimination of consequences. Only then will we be able to talk about reconciliation. Until all of that takes place, we cannot even say the word ‘reconciliation,’” Harutyun Marutyan said.
