A joint Council of Europe/European Union initiative has helped vulnerable Roma communities in Europe to face challenges posed by the COVID-19 virus.
By the end of April this year, approximately €60,000 has been allocated in 34 municipalities reaching some 1,900 families. This action includes distribution of essential food packages and vouchers, hygiene kits and other relevant products. Further allocations of additional resources totalling an estimated €250,000 to €300,000 are planned to top up existing grants. More detailed information about this initiative, as well as specific pages on assistance to Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo*, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Turkey.
