Former Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan participated in the latest session of the Inquiry Committee for Examining the Circumstances of the Military Activities of April 2016. The session ended, after which Karen Karapetyan told reporters, “I answered all the questions that the members of the committee asked. Since the contents of the committee session include state secrets, I cannot say anything more.”

Reporters asked him about how he spoke about diesel fuel as Prime Minister and how there were technical issues. Karen Karapetyan responded, “I answered all questions. The members of the committee informed me that it is a private session that contains state secrets. So, you must be satisfied with that answer. I answered that question.”

Reporters also asked about what was discussed on April 22, 2018, and whether Karapetyan offered Pashinyan to approach the podium together, but he was told in response that people would get the impression that a coalition agreement was made to replace Serzh Sargsyan with Karen Karapetyan. In response, Karen Karapetyan smiled and said, “What we agreed upon with Nikol Pashinyan is a private matter.” He said that no one violated their agreement.

When asked about whether or not there were plans for him to remain in office after Serzh Sargsyan resigned in 2018 but Nikol Pashinyan refused, Karen Karapetyan neither confirmed nor denied the question. He only repeated, “The agreements we made with Nikol Pashinyan are a private matter.”
