“The state of emergency will be extended because the measures that need to take place in order to effectively fight against the virus are only allowed to take place within a state of emergency,” Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan said at the government press club. According to him, several measures will be taken in the state of emergency: quarantine, self-isolation, and restrictions on personal freedoms.
Rustam Badasyan also said that the State of Emergency Command’s actions have also been outlined so that it will be possible to make effective decisions. The minister said that the free movement of citizens will be allowed, but based on several conditions. “For example, several conditions will need to be upheld as citizens in several administrative districts will be allowed to move about freely. If public transportation begins to operate, then people will only be allowed to use it while wearing masks. Several conditions will need to be met at restaurants and fast food places. The State of Emergency Command will also have the opportunity to impose several conditions that people must uphold as they move about freely.”
The government extended the state of emergency by one month.
