On May 16, at 03:32 information was received to Crisis management national center that a car accident had occurred in Garegin Nzhdeh square of Yerevan, there was a casualty: there was a fuel leakage.
One fire unit from the Fire and Rescue Squad of Yerevan Rescue Department of the Rescue Service of the MES of RA dispatched to the scene.
It turned out that “BMW X5” (driver Khachik N. born in 1989) had run off the roadway and collided with the barrier of Spandaryan’s statue. The driver was hospitalized to “Erebouni” medical center, where the doctors assessed his health condition as serious.
Rescuers disconnected the automotive battery and closed the gas valve of the car.
