Not everything is under control in the fight against the coronavirus. Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan spoke about this at the government press center. He said that there are other priorities in terms of taking control right now, such as providing medical assistance to people who need hospitalization. This includes people in critical condition, as well as those in serious but stable condition. The purpose is so that their condition does not become critical.
According to Torosyan, another priority in the fight against the virus is establishing the circle of contact among infected patients and keeping those in that circle in self-isolation. “There is no other alternative. We need to cut off these circles of contact as much as possible. It was easier when we only had 20-30 cases, but finding the circle of contact among 335 patients is much more time-consuming. We are increasing our strength in Yerevan so that we can handle everything.”
The minister said that there are 270 patients under 18 who have been confirmed to have the virus. Two of them have pneumonia, but they are in good condition. According to Torosyan, although children are handling the virus well, that doesn’t mean that they should be put in danger. They should also be wearing masks in enclosed spaces. This is not referring to babies.
There are 23 pregnant women with the coronavirus, but according to the minister, none of them are in danger.
