The daily situation surrounding the number of coronavirus cases continues to remain tense. All measures and rules need to be upheld so that the increase in the number of cases can remain the way it is now and so that it will eventually be possible to decrease those cases and stop the virus. The Minister of Health, Arsen Torosyan, spoke about this during a briefing after the State of Emergency Command session.
While presenting the number of cases, the minister said that 316 people are in serious condition, 53 are in critical condition, and 17 are using ventilators. “In order to keep the situation under control and avoid having cases where citizens will not be able to access intensive medical care, we will continue to increase the number of hospital beds for intensive therapy. Over the next month or month and a half, we will have over 100 extra beds for intensive therapy, 50 of which will be at the St. Grigor Lusavorich Medical Center. The remaining 50 will be at the Erebuni Medical Center as these are the largest hospitals. This is important so that assistance can be comprehensive and so that all experts can be in one place.”
According to the minister, many medical centers have been included in this process. Almost all rehabilitation units have separate areas for coronavirus patients. There are also separate treatment centers.
The minister called upon citizens to uphold the rules so that people will not need intensive therapy. “Unfortunately, it is not possible to save everyone. Yesterday, we had a record number of deaths- 15. Doctors are working 24 hours, but there is no guarantee that even young and healthy citizens will all recover.”

Torosyan said that patients showing symptoms are receiving treatment at clinics, but this has caused some tension among citizens and doctors since this is new for them. “I ask that you present all incidents and complaints to the hotline, 8003, so that we will be able to respond quickly to these cases and avoid problems.”
