Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held an online briefing after today’s regular meeting of the Commandant’s Office. The briefing was attended by State of Emergency Commandant, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan and Police Chief Arman Sargsyan.
Reference was made to the COVID-19-related situation and the latest decree passed by the Commandant’s Office. In particular, the Commandant’s Office had decided that that wearing masks in all open-air public places is henceforth mandatory in Armenia.
“Citizens will have to wear a mask from the moment they leave home – in the yard, in the elevator, and even while walking down the street. We need to wear masks because crowded walks are also a source of infection,” Prime Minister Pashinyan said.
In turn, Deputy Prime Minister, State of Emergency Commandant Tigran Avinyan pointed out that the Commandant’s Office had discussed the healthcare system’s current status and the expected volume of medical services.
