After the State of Emergency Command session, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan responded to a question about why the number of coronavirus recoveries over the past few days is so low. He said that this number was once based on the number of total positive cases, but now the number is only based on serious and critical cases currently in the hospital.
“I can use my family as an example. Thank God that we are asymptomatic but we have the coronavirus, and if this continues, we will recover without any medical assistance. We will be included in the overall confirmed statistics, but we will not be included in the number of recoveries because we did not receive any medical assistance. We are asymptomatic, as are thousands of people, and we are not receiving medical assistance. Our treatment is not being registered with medical documents, so that is the reason for these statistics. And treatment for people in serious or critical condition takes longer,” the Prime Minister said.
He said that the State of Emergency Command discussed the possibility of going under complete lockdown, but this decision was not reached because they still have a chance of not doing that. But this opportunity might not remain tomorrow.
Pashinyan said that this issue can resolve the economic and healthcare crisis in the country, but it depends on everyone’s behavior and whether or not they will uphold anti-pandemic procedures.
