EU NEIGHBOURS. On 10 June, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the EU held an information session for primary healthcare providers in Armenia. Participants discussed infection prevention and control (IPC) issues and WHO’s recent updates on the COVID-19 pandemic.
The session had over 230 participants and was facilitated jointly by national and WHO experts.
This event was particularly useful, as many primary healthcare providers in Armenia have been repurposed to serve as frontline workers caring for mild and moderate cases of COVID-19. The session built on previous trainings provided by Armenia’s National Institute of Health.
The event covered IPC during home visits and home care for COVID-19 patients, WHO requirements and use of non-medical masks, infectious period of COVID-19 and many other issues of concern to the medical professionals.
