“The reasons for the declaration of a state of emergency in March have not been eliminated. Unfortunately, the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread and we have more than 15,000 cases today, as well as 258 deaths,” Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan reported during the National Assembly special session.
Due to the spread of the coronavirus, the government decided to extend the state of emergency until July 13th, and a National Assembly session was called in accordance with the law.
The Prime Minister emphasized that hospitals are currently overwhelmed, although many activities are underway. “We are in a crisis. The question of how we can get out of this crisis and reduce the number of cases arises. To be honest, the solution was decided since the beginning, but not many people want to acknowledge that. Overcoming this virus does not have as much to do with the healthcare system as it does with the public. The solution is in our minds and heads. We can only overcome this situation by changing our behavior. According to several predictions, the coronavirus will last for another year to a year and a half, and the world will stay in these conditions for the next five years.”
According to Pashinyan, the number of cases is not decreasing, which means that the pandemic rules have not been upheld. Continuing this way will make overcoming the virus impossible.
