“One pushed me, the other pulled me by the underarms, one grabbed me by the neck, and another one pulled me by the legs. They pushed us all to the ground,” Prosperous Armenia deputy Karine Poghosyan told reporters on Khanjyan street.
Prosperous Armenia deputies sat down and closed off Khanjyan street in protest. The police then forcefully removed them from the area. “I said that they don’t have the right to do so because I am a deputy, but they said that it doesn’t matter,” Karine Poghosyan said and showed the bruises she had on her arm. “They were pushing us… if ten people were to push one person, what would happen?”
She also had an injury on her leg.
The National Security Service has been conducting a search of the private home of Prosperous Armenia leader Gagik Tsarukyan since this morning due to suspected bribery in the 2017 elections and suspected harm to the state caused by the Shangri La casino, according to a message published by the NSS. The situation is currently tense between citizens, deputies, and police gathered by the NSS building. Gagik Tsarukyan is being interrogated by the NSS.
