“Since there are 600 new cases every day and 10-11 new deaths, we will not even discuss the possibility of resignation right now,” the head of the Bright Armenia party, Edmon Marukyan, told reporters during a briefing in response to a question about whether or not Bright Armenia sees any possibilities of cooperation with Prosperous Armenia leader Gagik Tsarukyan and the idea of dissolving the government.
“At the same time, we will discuss the issue of political responsibility when the pandemic subsides or when the numbers start to go down. I have spoken about this in parliament while looking Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in the eye,” Marukyan said.
Prosperous Armenia had spoken about its intention to establish an investigative committee on preventing the coronavirus, eliminating its consequences, and examining the circumstances on the organization of work, which Bright Armenia had supported. “They said in the media that we spoke about our conditions, but that is not true. It is our idea and, taking into consideration the fact that Prosperous Armenia leads two investigative committees in parliament, we would like to lead this one.”
