“The French doctors are very dedicated to their work in Armenia. This picture was very emotional for me. It seems as though it is saying, ‘We are with you, Armenia,’” the ambassador of France to Armenia, Jonathan Lacote, said during an online meeting with the Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs regarding a photo taken of French doctor Alexander Minion.
“France, Armenia, Europe, the USA, and everyone else is fighting against the coronavirus together and we all stand with Armenia, which has faced some difficulties,” the ambassador said. The doctor who was sleeping on the hospital bench, Alexander Minion, said that their group is already preparing to go back to France, but they would love to return to Armenia again to help the sick. “We are doing our work with joy and we want to help Armenians as much as possible. Unfortunately, more deaths have been confirmed, although we are able to say that there has been some improvement in terms of those who are ill.”
The Minister of Health, Arsen Torosyan, said that the second group of doctors from France will be coming to Armenia. Italian doctors are also expected to come. The High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, Zareh Sinanyan, said that a group of doctors from the Armenian community in the US also wishes to come to Armenia.
