“It seems that there won’t be a competition this year. The European Championships have been postponed until December, but regardless, we will not be participating because they will be taking place in Baku. By the way, Baku also will be hosting the women’s championships instead of France,” Hakob Serobyan said.
He continued, “Therefore, it seems like there won’t be any serious competitions this year: the European Championships, the World Championships, the World Cup, or the Olympic Games. Therefore, we are searching for other championships so that we can prepare and exercise in normal gyms that are held to international standards. We can also carry out educational practices because we do not have those locally. This is needed for the boys to keep up their stamina. The lack of competitions is not only affecting the athletes, but their coaches’ motivation as well because we do not know what direction we are supposed to move in and we don’t know according to which program we need to exercise. If we become aware of a competition about a month or month and a half in advance, the boys will be ready and the coaches will be able to know what needs to be done specifically,” the head coach said.
