“Over the past two years, the biggest changes to have taken place in the Armed Forces had to do with the quality of the food. Revolutionary decisions were made and new solutions were found. I think that all issues will be resolved by the end of the year and all military bases will have adopted the new dietary changes, which will eliminate the possibility of giving soldiers poor food. We also have several issues with the frontline, but we have also been able to find solutions to those problems. Our soldiers at the frontline will receive the same food that all other soldiers do, just in a different format,” deputy Tigran Karapetyan said while answering questions about the positive changes to have taken place in the Armed Forces over the past two years.
He also explained the other changes that took place that have to do with the Air Force, Army, and long-range accurate damage and anti-aircraft defense. However, these changes are not being discussed for obvious reasons.
When the individual hosting the conference asked about how the opposition, who does not know the reality of the situation, claims that the ruling party does not know how to lead the country despite all these achievements, Tigran Karapetyan responded, “This is a new phenomenon. Not only are people speaking who know nothing about weapons and armory, but they also are trying to give the military leadership advice and technical descriptions of weapons. Then, they are trying to tell us which weapons we should have bought and which ones we should not have. The most absurd is when people who were a part of the ruling party for years are trying to criticize us while ignoring their own faults.”
The April War of 2016 was also discussed. “One of the preconditions of the April War was that we were preparing for the previous war. This is a trend in many armies across the world and that has taken place throughout history. We should not be trying to prepare for the April War now; we should be preparing for the next war. The stages in Libya and Syria are allowing us to imagine what the next war will be like, God forbid,” Tigran Karapetyan, who is a member of the Standing Committee on Defense and Security, said.
