The Chairman of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Foreign Relations, Ruben Rubinyan, spoke about deputy Gevorg Gorgisyan’s opinion that there are omissions in the references to the Genocide in the national security strategy during the panel organized by the Union of Informed Citizens NGO.
He first spoke about the provisions about the Genocide, and then said, “Mr. Gorgisyan, what else did you want? Did you want someone to read this while wearing a taraz and dancing kochari? It is obvious that the recognition of the Armenian Genocide is a priority. It has always been and will remain a priority. And this priority has evolved over the past several years in the sense that it has changed from being strictly an Armenian issue to a global issue. This is due to the fact that we believe that the recognition of the Armenian Genocide is also a condition and part of the campaign to prevent all genocides.”
Gevorg Gorgisyan responded to Ruben Rubinyan. “Mr. Rubinyan, it seems that you proved what I was saying about how the Armenian Genocide recognition is mentioned as a method and not a goal.”
