The Commandant’s Office of the state of emergency decided to reopen public schools, institutions of primary and secondary vocational education, music schools, and fine arts schools on September 15th while making sure to maintain the standards for education as well as sanitary and hygienic norms. The commandant will make a decision regarding universities and other educational institutions next week. The commandant and deputy prime minister, Tigran Avinyan, spoke about this during the special session of parliament. The government decided to extend the state of emergency until September 11th due to the spread of the coronavirus. The decision was presented in parliament in accordance with the law.

Avinyan said that the Commandant’s Office of the state of emergency is working on the details of the rules that need to be followed along with the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport. These rules will be announced in the following days. “Libraries and museums will reopen. Guidelines for reopening will be announced in the upcoming week,” Avinyan said.

The commandant will also make a decision in the coming week about outdoor plays and cultural events. “We are finalizing the details at the moment. Culture and art will allow us to overcome social and psychological tensions a lot easier. Limitations will also be lifted for solo performers. I am referring to singers and musicians who perform in restaurants. They will be allowed to perform at outdoor events if they follow the rules,” Tigran Avinyan said.
