Time to focus on economic bloc – PM holds another consultation

August 13,2020 11:08

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan chaired another consultation, which explored ways of implementing new anti-crisis measures in different economic sectors.

“We have come together to discuss future action aimed at supporting the economy amid the ongoing crisis. We have already approved and implemented 22 anti-crisis programs, some of which are completed, while others are in progress. We will make decisions based on discussions held with the stakeholders, but we also need to adopt a strategy of anti-crisis action. We hope the healthcare system has overcome the crisis and the tome has come to focus on the economic bloc,” the Premier said.

The meeting went on to discuss possibilities for saving jobs in the tourism sector affected by the crisis, harvesting and procurement of grapes, providing soft loans to economic entities in order to create new development opportunities, simplifying the export-import procedures and construction standards, as well as stimulating capital investments.

A number of proposals and recommendations were voiced during the exchange of views that followed. The speakers expressed confidence that both the previous and the new anti-crisis activities might help revive and boost the economy.

Summing up the meeting, the Prime Minister instructed those responsible to finalize the proposed programs and submit them for the government’s approval.
