A few days ago, the founder and president of the Armenian Christian Medical Association, medical Ph.D., surgeon, and the author of several scientific works, Syrian-Armenian Dr. Johnny Hatdat, died of COVID-19.
He visited Armenia at least twice every year to carry out surgeries free of charge. In the aftermath of the earthquake in 1988, the charity doctor was working in Kuwait. That is when he began his charity works in Armenia. Besides carrying out difficult and expensive surgeries entirely for free, the doctor also trained local specialists.
According to many patients whom he worked with, they completely forgot about any diseases or surgeries within days of the doctor operating on them. They did not even have any scars.
The Gyumri Medical Center, where Dr. Hatdat had carried out many surgeries, issued a press statement. “The founder and president of the Armenian Christian Medical Association, medical Ph.D., surgeon, and the author of several scientific works, Syrian-Armenian Dr. Johnny Hatdat, died of COVID-19. Johnny Hatdat carried out many surgeries in Gyumri, as well as in hospitals all across Armenia and Artsakh since 1988 with the permission of the Ministry of Health. Johnny Hatdat carried out approximately 40 charity programs, the majority of which took place at the Gyumri Medical Center. It was possible to save dozens of lives as a result of those programs.
