The founder and president of the Armenian Christian Medical Association, medical PhD, surgeon, and the author of many medical works, Syrian-Armenian doctor Johnny Hatdat died of the coronavirus several days ago.
His death was mourned greatly among his compatriots. He visited Armenia twice every year to carry out different surgeries completely free. People were sharing posts all over social media expressing their sorrow over the doctor’s death.
One of the users, Meri Harutyunyan, describing the doctor, said, “The pain is great since a great person left us. Once he said, ‘I love working with inexperienced and scared people to help them become more experienced and bold.’ And that’s what he did with my mother. He played a huge role in the growth of her profession. May his soul rest in peace, and may the Holy Spirit give peace to his family.”
The doctor’s daughter, Petia Hatdat, who is also a surgeon, told Aravot Daily, “The services provided by Dr. Johnny Hatdat will be continued by his family members and the members of the Armenian Christian Medical Association. We will remain loyal to our calling, God, and the Armenian people. As it is written in the Bible, ‘Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus’ (Philippians 1:6). With regards, the Hatdat family.”
